AUSTRALIAN HEALTH OFFICIALS TAKE THE LEAD AGAINST SOY

Click HERE for a link to the story

"There is evidence to suggest that women with existing breast cancer or past breast cancer should be cautious in consuming large quantities of soy foods or phyto-oestrogen supplements," a position statement from the Cancer Council says.

"Women with current or past breast cancer should be aware of the risks of potential tumour growth when taking soy products.

"The Cancer Council does not support the use of health claims on food labels that suggest soy foods or phyto-oestrogens protect against the development of cancer."

You probably won't hear much about this report in the U.S. press. And, even if you do see it mentioned, the health system in this country will probably ignore it because the it pretty much discounts any research that isn't conducted within its borders.

Why do I think this is an important article? Because it's part of a growing body of evidence about the overall dangers of soy. My concerns about soy began when I recognized that soy products contain substances that act like estrogen. I had a growing awareness that estrogen-like substances are at the root of many hormone imbalance issues. I was also aware that the amount of estrogen-like substances in the environment had been on the rise and linked to a wide array of disease.

My education about soy began with a great documentary book by Dr. Kaayla T. Daniel, PhD, CCN, " The Whole Soy Story; the dark side of America's favorite health food". The jacket of this book is clear about what you'll find between the covers.

In this groundbreaking expose' Dr. Kaayla Daniel explodes the myths about soy.

  • Soy is NOT a health food
  • Soy is NOT the answer to world hunger
  • Soy is NOT a panacea
  • Soy has NOT been proven safe

That last bullet really caught my attention. Dr. Daniel lays out the evidence about soy's presumed safety. Please note the word, "presumed". Study after study has demonstrated that soy may not be a safe substance. Did you know that soy cannot be eaten raw? It must be processed before it is fit for human consumption. Can you think of any other food substance that must be processed before it is edible? Sure, some foods taste better when cooked, but foods are never harmful in an unprocessed state. That suggests that soy is NOT a food substance, regardless of what we've been told.

Soy is linked to malnutrition, digestive problems, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders, immune system breakdown, even heart disease and cancer.

Dr. Daniel says that those most at risk are children given soy milk, vegetarians who eat soy as their main source of protein, and adults who medicate themselves with soy foods and supplements.

Take a look at the labels in the grocery store. Soy is in almost everything. One day I tried to find ANY salad dressings that did not contain soy oil. I ended up deciding that I would only use olive oil and vinegar from now on. It's in mayonnaise and almost every protein drink or bar. If you're not careful you could be consuming soy with every meal. So, not only is soy a potentially harmful substance we're exposed to it at every turn.

The evidence is mounting and at least one health system has the courage to speak up, Australia.

Do your health a favor.

Do whatever it takes to remove all soy products from your diet.

Start by reading labels and rejecting any food that contains soy. Next, look carefully at every supplement you use. If they contain soy or soy phytoestrogens dump them. Read Dr. Daniel's book (The Whole Soy Story), but don't put it on your bookshelf when you've finished. Pass it around. We might not hear the warnings from health officials in the U.S., but that doesn't mean we can educate and protect ourselves.

The Compounder Recommends:

PERI-GUM® - I tried this product and now I use it every day.

What is Gum Disease? Although 3 out of 4 people over 35 have gum disease, most do not realize it because it often does not cause any noticeable symptoms in the mouth.  Infection of the gums can go on for years without someone knowing it.  The first signs may be tenderness when brushing, some swelling, blood on the toothbrush, and redness of the gums instead of a healthy pink color.

Gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) is caused by plaque bacteria.  If plaque is not removed, it grows and causes pockets between the teeth and gums.  As the infection progresses the gums become more inflamed and bleed more.  This is called periodontitis and can cause loss of teeth.  The severity of periodontitis is measured by the depth of the pockets between the teeth and the gums.

One of our customers told me about PERI-GUM® I placed an order and tried it myself before putting on the shelf - or offering it to our online customers. If you use and and are not delighted I'll refund your purchase price. Click HERE to read more.
