Although nothing
works every time, we find that a simple
combination of mineral salts and vitamins
can break the migraine cycle - and often
significantly reduce the number of
occurrences. Some studies have found that
migraine sufferers are often found to have
low magnesium and vitamin B2 (riboflavin)
levels.
I came across
a formula in a symposium a few years ago. It
is based on deficiencies that one doctor
said most of his migraine sufferers had in
common. We refer to this asformula # 2424. It provides in
each capsule;
Magnesium Oxide 37.5mg
Magnesium Glycinate 37.5mg
Riboflavin 100mg
Feverfew
Extract 50mg
Calcium
Citrate Tetrahydrate 50mg
People use 2
to 3 capsules every 3 to 4 hours (not more
than 8 capsules in 24 hours) to break a
migraine. It helps if the migraine sufferer
is able to rest after taking these capsules.
Magnesium helps relax muscles and it can
bring about sleepiness. The riboflavin an
cause discoloration of the urine.
We have also
had success with a formula that contains
ibuprofen (i.e.. Motrin). This is
formula # 264. It provides the
following in each capsule;
Ibuprofen 200mg
Riboflavin 100mg
Sodium
Bicarbonate 72mg
Caffeine
Citrate 65mg
People use 1
to 3 capsules every 3 to 6 hours as needed
for headache relief - do not exceed 8
capsules in 24 hours. This formula does not
seem to cause drowsiness, but it can be
irritating to the stomach.
